inageral address

i would like to open by first saying Baltimore is a great Beer town. From beer bars to brew pubs, breweries to home brew groups, it is evident from Baltimore's rich brewing history that this town just plain loves beer. that being said there is still more that we can do as a community to grow our beer culture. it has come to my attention that the city of Baltimore, and this whole region for that matter, is lacking one central unifying force to tie all beer lovers together. which is why i decided to start the Baltimore Beer Club as a forum to discuss and share our favorite topic, Beer. i am aware of other forums such as beer advocate but why not create a club uniquely Baltimore. where those who attended last week's beer social at Max's can talk about the new rare brew they tried for the first time and how it reminded them of the Belgian triple they tasted at Mahaffey's last week while they were discussing the newest seasonal exparment from Brewer's Art. where curious rookie home brewers can pick the brains of the experienced members of CRABS and maybe your society may gain a new member. where all members of each club from every neighborhood can meet, create a dialogue, create a community and hopefully some day we can all share a beer. as of right now the club consist of this blog with a website in the works if there is a proven interest in this idea i plan to hold meetings once a month where we can share our thoughts, rare beers, even our own home creations. before i set anything up i need to know people want to do this so post away. i think this is a great opportunity to build Baltimore's beer culture into one of the best in our nation.
